Shift Manager - Regina

Provide leadership and support to the staff

-       Oversee daily activities of youth and staff providing direction and leadership where needed

- Professional development, coaching and mentoring of staff

- Provide disciplinary measures in conjunction with the Program Manager and the Housing Ministries Director

- Provide reviews to the staff based on their Position Descriptions 

- The ability to lead a team and be a part of a team

- The ability to set and maintain healthy professional boundaries

- Ability to ensure that the youth's needs are met and that the daily assigned tasks are being completed 

- Review housing issues, staff performance and youth progress with the Program Manager

- Monitor and report youth financial expenditures, petty cash expenditures, and grocery shopping budget

- Monitor household supplies inventory and delegate tasks as needed

- Monitor meal plans and grocery shopping plans as well as the grocery budget 

- Train and monitor staff, ensuring that they are equipped to succeed in their positions

-       Promote Health and Safety in the home and provide training as required

-       Develop Case plans for each youth in conjunction with the Program Manager and Ministry of Social Services Worker (MSS)

-       Communicate with MSS Worker and work collaboratively to oversee case plan

-       Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations

-       Be available for training

-       Commit to YFC community commitments

-       Commit to missionary responsibilities

Term: Full Time, Permanent

Start Date: TDB

Youth Recreational Coordinator (Summer Position), Regina

Leadership

  • The ability to oversee YCW’s on shift

  • Plan and coordinate recreational activities for the youth

  • The ability to lead a team and be a part of a team

  • The ability to set and maintain healthy professional boundaries

  • Ability to ensure that the youth’s needs are being met and that the daily assigned tasks are being completed

  • Reporting to the Shift Manager and accountable to the Program Manager for daily activities in the home

  • Meet regularly with the Shift Manager and Program Manager for planning meetings

  • Responsible for youth’s finances for clothing, hygiene and allowance

  • The ability to follow house routines, procedures and expectations at all times

  • Ensure that weekly menu plans are created and groceries purchase

  • Develop and maintain the meal plan under the guidance of the Shift or Program Manager

  • Document the fire and safety drills and evacuation procedure

  • Ability to document monthly youth reports for case plans

 

Health and Safety

  • Implement the fire and evacuation drills and plans

  • Monitor the administering medication and ensuring that the medication procedure is followed

  • Follow House OH&S guidelines

  • Adhere to Universal Health and Safety Precautions

  • Bring all concerns of procedure and staff or youth health and safety issues to the Shift Manager and/or the Program Manager

Youth Care

  • Ordering and Picking up medications as requested by the Shift Manager

  • Take Youth to scheduled appointments as requested by the Shift Manager or the Program Manager

  • Work with the Youth towards meeting their case plan goals

  • Accessing and planning youth activities and recreation

  • Supporting the Youth Case Plan at all times

  • Ability to build trusted relationships with youth and staff

  • Ability to motivate and empower youth

  • Ability to help the youth with homework assignments

  • Support youth in problem solving and decision making

  • Provide behavioral support as needed by redirecting behavior and applying consequences where appropriate

  • Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices

  • Ability to supervise and monitor youth in the home

  • Documentation of youth allowances and petty case expenditures

  • Ability to communicate effectively to support youth and inform agencies

  • Ability to provide conflict management and to refer issues to Shift Manager and Program Manager as needed

  • Ability to track and measure Youth success

Training Needed

Applicants must have Occupational Aquatic Safety Training, Basic Water Rescue Certification and First AID CPR. Bronze Medallion Life Saving Certificate and national life Guard will be considered an asset.
